Though the work that he is commissioned to paint is mainly portraiture, his love for line and form can be seen vividly in all his work.

Kamau Paul is a talented, young artist with influences from the Caribbean and Italy, and a broad range of skills to offer. In addition to Technical Drawing, Kamau is well-versed in the fields of Computer Graphics, Illustration and Animation. He is a graduate of Sheridan College in Canada, where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Visual and Creative Art.

Many of his works are reminiscent of the grittier underbelly of Caribbean life as he feels that the tranquil beaches and landscapes are cliché and only representative of the side of the life that the islands chose to portray to woo the tourists. The work is never meant to glorify a lifestyle or demonize it. It is often telling the story of those who can’t tell their own stories.
